As years passed by i developed an incredible interest for film.
It started around 1995 with weekly visits to a local cinema. When internet became available i learned about many films which hardly reached our 'lowlands'. In the beginning i focused myself on 'limited American festival' films.. until i watched my first 'foreign' film in 2001. Versus and Battle Royale. I totally loved them and from that moment a whole new world opened for me. Not only Asian cinema, but also Eastern European, Spanish, Mexican, Brazilian, Chinese and Swedish cinema started to attract my attention. It is really too much to mention.

It was not until my study at UVA (Media & Cultuur) and a job at the International Documentary Festival of Amsterdam when i realized i really wanted to do something in writing and film. Especially in a social documentary context. The countless amounts of IDFA documentaries about unknown worlds and subjects amazed me. My dream is to travel to foreign countries and display or write about unknown (to us, western people) cultures, life and/or problems and how these people deal with them.

Hobbies? Watching movies, listening to music, wakeboarding, longboarding, travelling, writing, hugging my cat, computer and basically a lot of relaxing on my sofa. :)
